Information about how your personal information is processed

This information text explains how the Gammelstad Visitor Centre / Open-air museum Hägnan, a part of Luleå municipality’s cultural department, manages your personal data and what rights you have.

When you book an activity with us, we handle the following information that you provide to us:

  • Your name and contact information, if you represent a company, we also register company name and contact information for the company
  • Your VAT number and billing address, if you choose to pay by invoice
  • Details of your booking and your booking history
  • Payment and payment history details

We handle this personal information to deliver the booked activity, charge for the activity, notify you of changes in your booking, market our activities and services to you via email and compile statistics of our activities to improve our services.

Collected data is processed only by those responsible for and working with the booking. Your personal information is also shared with your assigned guide, which welcomes you on location in Gammelstad. We may also share your personal information with a third party, provided we are required to do so by law. However, we will never transfer your data to a non-EU country. Your personal information will be stored for 7 years after your last participation.

Legal basis for handling: We handle your personal information to fulfill the contractual obligations when we provide the activity.  We have a legitimate interest in using information about your booking for statistics and to market our services.

Gammelstad Visitor Centre may use your email address for direct marketing of our activities. If you do not want us to use your email address for direct marketing, please feel free to contact us and we will remove your email address from the mailing list. You report a complaint to

Under certain conditions you have the right to have personal data deleted. If you have the right to delete your personal data, it means that Luleå municipality without undue delay will delete the information.

You are entitled to receive information about how Luleå municipality processes your personal information. You have the right to have incorrect personal information corrected or incomplete personal data being completed.

If you wish to take any action regarding your rights, please contact the Luleå municipality’s Data Protection Officer. If you have complaints about our processing of your personal data, you have the right to file a complaint with the Data Inspectorate.
