Join us for an atmospheric tour about old Christmas traditions. In the light of candles and torches you will learn how Christmas was prepared and celebrated by poor crofters in the 1780s compared to rich farmers in the 1880s. During the tour you will aslo hear about the importance of a Christmas cross in the window, the reason why some Christmas preparations took place in the stable and what Christmas gifts really meant.
You will also visit some of the museum’s outbuildings where you can hear more about what special Christmas preparations took place there and how the folkloristic “gårdstomte” differ from Santa Claus.
